The History of Matches

Match manufacturing within Japan begun in the Meiji Era. The starting point of our production was in Awajishima, Hyogo Prefecture. Our factory was established in 1905 and has a history of production of over 100 years.
Most of the match brands in the market now were first produced in the Meiji Era, and their typical design includes a peach, swallow, elephant, horse, bamboo shoot, or a shrimp.
There have always been regional characteristics in Japan's match brands ever since their inception, and they have been sold in every region of Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
